Jakarta, 9 June 2025 - Eid al-Adha is always a meaningful moment, not only for Muslims who perform qurbani, but also for many people who feel the joy of sharing. In order to celebrate Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijri, PT Sumber Segara Primadaya (S2P) - PLTU Cilacap, once again showed its commitment to social care and community welfare through the annual program of distributing sacrificial animals to communities in the area around its operations and Cilacap Regency. This year, PT Sumber Segara Primadaya (S2P) distributed 37 cows and 11 goats. A total of 30 cows and 5 goats from PT Sumber Segara Primadaya (S2P) and the rest from partners as many as 7 cows and 6 goats.
“This year, partners who participated in the Eid al-Adha sacrifice program include PT D&C Engineering, PT Energi Quarto Indonesia, PT Madam Energi Prima, PT Rantausindu, PT Mitra Karya Prima, PT Kancil Emas Tunggal Perkasa, PT Duta Samudera Karya, and PT Mukti Aji Lestari,” said Sigit Suwarto, as Chairman of the Eid al-Adha Sacrificial Animal Program Committee this year.
These sacrificial animals were distributed to communities in the Cilacap area and assisted villages. The distribution of cattle this year covered the following areas: Karangkandri Village with 9 heads, Menganti Village with 6 heads, Slarang Village with 7 heads, Kalisabuk Village with 1 head, Kuripan Kidul Village with 1 head, Kesugihan District with 2 heads, TPI Lengkong with 1 head, Indonesian Fishermen Association (HNSI) with 1 head, and other Cilacap areas with 9 heads. For goat sacrifice, 11 goats were distributed to Cilacap area.
This program is carried out as part of the company's social responsibility, which has been going on since the Cilacap PLTU began operating, in 2006. Although it was delayed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this program continues every year as a symbol of care and togetherness. For almost two decades since it began operations, PT Sumber Segara Primadaya (S2P) has made the qurbani program part of its corporate social responsibility pillars, alongside initiatives in the fields of environment, education, and health.
"The Eid al-Adha sacrificial animal program is a tangible manifestation of PT Sumber Segara Primadaya's concern for the welfare of the community. In this holy moment of Eid al-Adha, we want to share happiness with the surrounding community, as part of our commitment to grow and develop with the surrounding environment," said Agus Gunanto, as General Manager of Unit 3A PT Sumber Segara Primadaya (S2P).
In addition to increasing the community's access to sacrificial meat, this program also has an economic impact through the purchase of animals from local Cilacap farmers. This can strengthen the sustainable economic ecosystem and encourage regional economic growth. By purchasing from local farmers and distributing directly to the surrounding communities, PT Sumber Segara Primadaya (S2P) wants to ensure that the benefits of qurbani are felt in a real and broad way, both spiritually and socio-economically.
One of them is through Rukun Ternak Cilacap Regency, which is a group of farmers assisted by PT S2P together with Baznas Cilacap Regency, so that the impact can be felt directly by the surrounding community.
"We would like to thank S2P for buying sacrificial goats from Rukun Ternak Baznas Cilacap, this is certainly very positive in improving the economy of our group members. We hope that we can continue to work together and purchase more, so that the enthusiasm and cohesiveness of group members will be even higher," said Saeful, one of the administrators of Rukun Ternak Baznas Cilacap.
Not only that, the animal health inspection process is carried out strictly in collaboration with the Cilacap Regency Agriculture Office to ensure that the sacrificial animals are healthy and meet the legal requirements according to Islamic law.
In this program, management and employees are involved from start to finish. From the stage of searching for sacrificial animals, checking animal health, to distribution to beneficiaries. Management and employees of PT Sumber Segara Primadaya (S2P) went directly to the field to strengthen the company's relationship with the community and at the same time build a sense of ownership of this program.
The slaughtering of sacrificial animals and the distribution of sacrificial meat are carried out by the community independently in each recipient area. The community leaders welcomed the sustainability of this program which is considered to provide tangible benefits to the residents.
"Alhamdulillah, the aid is a blessing. The community can eat meat for all during Eid al-Adha, not only those who can afford it," said Mr. Muhtarudin, a resident of Sawahbera, Karangkandri Village.
Meanwhile Pak Bani, a resident of Slarang Village, said, "The program provided by S2P is very useful because it is sustainable with other programs. Previously, I had attended halal slaughterer training facilitated by S2P, so the knowledge is very useful and can be applied during this Eid al-Adha."
As the owner of one of the largest power plants in Indonesia, PT Sumber Segara Primadaya (S2P) wants to show that industry and society can grow side by side. This commitment is realized through various programs that pay attention to environmental balance, economic empowerment, and social sustainability.
Through programs like this, PT Sumber Segara Primadaya (S2P) wants to strengthen good relations with the community and show that social care is part of its identity as a responsible energy company.
